The assignment was to create a musical instrument using Arduino as your source of input. This instrument can be both a tonal instrument or sequencer-like instrument (i.e. an electronic
harp or an electronic loop station) – or a combination of both. The interaction between your sensor input and sound output needs to be meaningful (or logical or intuitive) which means that there should be an idea of physics involved.
Together with Sander Koomen we created the beer piano. There are eight glasses, which can play 14 different tones in total. You can use seven glasses to make sound and the 8th glass to switch between two sound libraries. One library represents the notes of a piano and the other just random sounds. You can listen to the piano in the little movie.
